Friday 7th October
One very very exhausted M this morning. Ended up calling in to school as she really was beyond it. Stayed in PJs until after lunch! Had to cancel trip to fairy tree with H’s friend Thea – but Angie took H out for some happy time with just them, whilst I was able to ahve some time with M and a sleepy F. A sparkling sunny Autumn morning was calling so coat and boats over dressing gown, out we stepped to have a gentle wander to ‘our’ local fairy tree and to collect stinging nettles. Been on our ‘to-do’ list for some time! Sure enough, we all tried nettle soup for lunch (which we then served up to Nanny and Grandpa at the weekend:-)) The girls really enjoyed peeling the veg too. Simple pleasures!
